Both of these artists inspired me to create this hip hop beat. I was particularly inspired by the music production behind how to pimp a butterfly. The album which Kendrick Lamar brought out last year. The way I produced this Kendrick Lamar type beat was simple. I really wanted a beat that sounded busy but I didn't want to stuff it with melodies and synth sounds. A production trick I used in this rap beat is that I used vocal samples that I got from the producers choice hip hop drum kits samples and I chopped it up to create busy effect throughout the instrumental. I take you through the instrumental from the introduction the verse to hook to the bridge. I show you all the sounds that used to make this beat and why I used these sound to make the beat. I use logic pro x as my main DAW. I use some sounds within logic to create a busy atmosphere and effects with the beat. Also my main synths are sylenth 1 and massive. For the mixing of the beat I used a lot of eq but sparingly. Rolling of the low end in many vsts that didn't need it. The 808 bass line supplies my bass in the track along with the kick drums.
